God's Generosity

Series: Deeper

“The goodness of God is that which disposes Him to be kind, benevolent, and full of good will toward men. By His nature He is inclined to bestow blessedness and He takes holy pleasure in the happiness of His people. The goodness of God is the drive behind all the blessings He daily bestows upon us.” – A.W. Tozer

I. God’s Generosity toward all Mankind

24  The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, 25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. (Acts 17:24-25)

II. God’s Generosity toward His People

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. (James 1:5, 17)

III. God’s Generosity toward us in Christ

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32)

Application: God’s people should receive His generosity with grateful hearts and reflect His generosity with open hands.
